Testing and
Assessment Processes
Testing and promotional
processes are among the most important decisions that modern managers have
to make. They represent a sizable investment and a very large
potential liability.
We realize the sensitive nature of promotional processes and are dedicated
to insuring that the best possible product is delivered to your
organization.
Elements
of the Process: Our process starts with a free consultation, except
for travel expenses, to evaluate your needs. We then make
recommendations on the type of process that will best accomplish the
organization's goals. All of our processes are custom designed for
your organization and the job position.
The custom process includes a job-task analysis of the position being
evaluated, followed by a needs assessment of the organization. This
is where our custom process differs from the "canned testing
processes" other companies may offer. We design a process that
will evaluate candidates for cognitive, leadership, and practical skills.
Most important, we prepare all candidates with both a
pre-evaluation
briefing and a post-evaluation debriefing. This allows candidates to
understand their strengths and weaknesses and to prepare themselves for
future opportunities. All candidates will receive a personal and
confidential evaluation of their performance and any recommendations for
future preparation.
Organizational
Support: Finally, we stand ready to
support the organization in any challenges to
the process. We have over 10 years experience in designing
evaluation processes and assessment centers. We use only trained
evaluators and subject matter experts. All materials are validated
to applicable standards and local procedures/guidelines. If a
challenge does arise, our staff will represent the process and participate
in reaching a resolution of the dispute.
The final result will be a professional design and delivery of custom
assessment of the candidates' skills and abilities. Not only is the
best qualified person identified for the position, but candidates are
assisted in preparing for future opportunities while providing maximum
protection to the organization.
Typical
Process and Time Frames
The typical time frame required
for an assessment center is a minimum of 90 days in a 7
Phase process.
 |
Phase
1: Site Visit and Interview for
Proposal
The initial site visit and interview with representatives responsible will determine
the type of process that will suit both the needs of the organization and
accomplish the goals of the position. A cost proposal
will be prepared and submitted for review outlining the scope of the work
and schedule of deliverables. |
 |
Phase
2: Job Task Analysis
The
position being evaluated will be divided in to tasks and a factor applied
or "weighted" to determine the importance of each task. |
 |
Phase
3: Needs Assessment & Evaluation of Critical Factors
Once the needs assessment of the position is complete,
exercises will be designed to evaluate the critical factors identified in
the needs assessment. |
 |
Phase
4: Candidates Briefing
Typically 7 to 10 days prior to delivery, items discussed in the briefing include:
 |
an overview of the process, |
 |
the
rating of the candidates, and |
 |
how to prepare for the process. |
|
 |
Phase
5: Actual Delivery of Assessment Process
Time length of delivery will depend upon recommendations and needs of
organization. If both written evaluation and assessment center
process, may
be administered in more than one day. |
 |
Phase
6: Compile Results & Candidate Reports
Compiling of the results and the preparation of the
individual candidates reports will be completed within 7 days of phase 5. |
 |
Phase
7: Delivery of Results and Debriefing
The final phase is the delivery of the results
to the responsible party and the candidates debriefing. All project
information is provided in hard copy and on a CD in a word processing
format for storage and later retrieval. |
